Drawing Machine: Colorful Rainfall
Humans "leave their mark" by writing, drawing, or painting. But what if machines were able to do this as well? In UC Berkeley’s Prototyping and Fabrication course, the assignment for this project was to create a motorized drawing machine that leaves a mark on a surface.
Duration

October 2022 - November 2022
Roles
-
Designed an initial unmotorized prototype using simple construction of materials so the machine can leave a mark on a surface.
-
Designed a motorized version of the machine using inspiration from the intial prototype.
Skills
-
Creative handrcrafting and laser cutting skills
-
Diligent planning
-
Knowledge of modular design
-
Clear vision
-
Skillful prototyping
Design Challenge
Design a motorized drawing machine that can automatically and repeatedly leave a mark on a surface with the just a single human-influenced operation.
